James Mack, MRED, CCIM

James Mack began his commercial real estate career in New York City in 2005 — while pursuing a career in acting and musical theatre — and started by syndicating multifamily deals in Harlem and the Bronx. After a master's degree at NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate, he moved into acquisitions, underwriting and acquiring office and industrial properties for New York City owner/operators and then a private equity firm in Utah, before entering brokerage.

In Utah, James advises clients on investments across the state. He has also spent years in office tenant representation, working with everyone from small tech startups to tech unicorns to Fortune 500 companies. He has participated in more than $535 million in transaction volume.

He brings an investor's read on the numbers from his years in acquisitions, a feel for what makes a building work for the people in it from his time on the demand side, and a global network from his years in New York. That combination is how he builds creative solutions and finds opportunities for his clients. He has served on the Utah CCIM Board of Directors, the Board of Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts, and as a committee member of the Mountain West Capital Network.

Outside work, James spends his time with his wife Angela and their four children. He still acts in the occasional commercial or film to keep things interesting, and loves to ski, hike, travel, and take in concerts, sporting events, and Broadway shows.
